Twenty years ago Rabbi Jonathan introduced me to a way of being Jewish that felt like home. In fact I moved to Woodstock because I knew the community he led, with his gifts of insatiable curiosity, honest communication and love of being Jewish, would offer me place to thrive.
He leads me into an ever growing passion for Torah study, he guides me into prayer that penetrates my heart, he encourages me to share my own gifts first with our congregation and later out into the world.
The Judaism Rabbi Jonathan teaches reflects the depth of the ages and the warmth of the closest families brought together by the delight and joy of celebration. Through his wisdom I experience the longing to be close to God, all the while enjoying the great fun of being Jewish.
